Abhinav Agarwal is the Product Manager for InDesign. He has been with Adobe (and InDesign) for close to a year now. Prior to joining Adobe, he worked as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, India.
Abhinav is an engineer and MBA by education. Though he has no prior experience in Graphics Design and Layouting, he remains committed to learning more about this industry.
As the Product Manager, he collaborates with customers to solicit their feedback on InDesign and works with engineering team to ensure that InDesign continues to improve and is able to excite customers with every new release.

Jessi Arrington is a designer who taps into the power of unexpected joy. As co-founder of the Brooklyn-based experience design studio WORKSHOP she produces projects with love for clients like Etsy, Cultivated Wit, and TED. Jessi is an integral part of the team behind the super successful Brooklyn Beta, a web conference aimed at the “work hard and be nice to people” crowd, and Brooklyn Derby the largest Kentucky Derby party outside of Kentucky. She draws inspiration from her friends at Small City the Gowanus coworking space she helped found. She makes a point of never buying new clothes, and her TED talk on that topic has been viewed over 1 million times. Amy Balliett is the CEO and co-founder of Killer Infographics, a Seattle-based industry leader in visual communication. She owned her first company, a candy store and ice cream parlor, at the age of 17 before heading off for college. She subsequently built a successful career in SEO and marketing, and has headed up SEO at several companies. In 2009, she partnered with Nick Grant to build lead-gen-based websites, but in the fall of 2010, the business pivoted to an entirely new model: infographic design. In the years since, Killer Infographics has grown to become an industry leader, driving visual communication campaigns for nonprofits and Fortune500 clients including Microsoft, Boeing, Adobe, Nikon, Starbucks, the National Endowment for the Arts, the United Nations, and more.
Sergio Baradat graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York with a BA in Illustration. As an illustrator, photographer and designer, Sergio has won awards of excellence from major design institutions including AIGA, Print, American Illustration, American Photography, Society of Illustrators. Sandee Cohen spent 20 years writing TV, radio, and print advertising for clients including Panasonic, Mattel, American Express, ABC News, Unilever, P&G (Procter and Gamble), and Pfizer Inc. In 1989 she left advertising to teach art directors and designers how to use “the machine” as Macintosh computers were known.
In 1999 she was approached by Adobe Systems to beta test K-2, which was released as Adobe InDesign. Nick Grant is Chief Revenue Officer and co-founder of Killer Infographics, a Seattle-based leader in visual communications and the design of infographics, motion graphics, and interactive infographics. Nick is a California native who moved to Seattle after studying entrepreneurship in college. Nick worked in marketing and business development roles before setting off on his own to co-found a lead-generation venture and cost-per-acquisition site alongside Amy Balliett in 2009. By 2010, the infographics they had made to promote their websites had created such a buzz that other companies were asking the duo to design infographics for them — and that's how Killer Infographics was born.
Maria Grønlund is a Danish based graphic designer who specializes in branding and digital art. She’s a former classical musician, trained in singing opera and playing the piano. In her mid-thirties she started studying graphic design. From 2007 to 2010 she worked for a couple of creative bureaus in Aarhus, Denmark; she started to work as an independent graphic designer in 2010. Her work is especially known for her use of bright vibrant colors and her digital art using creative and innovative methods. Her design is colorful, simplistic and easy on the eye.

Mark Heaps snapped his first picture at the age of four. His grandmother provided him with a camera and film so he could explore the world around him. As he got older he picked up a guitar, a skateboard, and a can of spray paint and thrashed his way into the world of art and design. Today he's an Adobe Community Professional. He's the former Executive Director for Houndstooth Studio and has held lead positions with Duarte, Google, and Apple. Ekene Ijeoma is an award-winning socially-focused interdisciplinary designer and artist working at the intersections of design, architecture, technology and data. He’s based in NYC at NEW INC. He was recently awarded NYFA Fellowship in Design, Urban Environments and Architecture and featured in Adweek's Creative 100 as 1 of the 10 "visual artists whose imagination and intellect will inspire you" and Good Magazine's Good 100 for "tackling pressing global issues".
His work has been exhibited at galleries and museums including Annenberg Center for Photography, Neuberger Museum of Art, Storefront for Art and Architecture, Design Museum, Istanbul Design Biennial and published in MoMA’s ‘Design and Violence.’

Mohammed Javed Ali

Javed is a Product Manager with InDesign team. He has been working with Adobe for over 7 years now. Prior to joining Adobe Javed completed his graduation in Computer Science and joined Adobe fresh out of College. He doesn’t have a design degree but over time he has gotten better with design, but there is still a long way to go.
His current role is no different than other Product Managers at Adobe, where he interacts with customers and engineering to build the next version of InDesign.

Rorie has been a staff member of the United Nations for 19 years. As Creative Director at United Nations Postal Administration, she is responsible for the architecture of the United Nations Postage Stamp Programme. Rorie is the head of the UN Stamps Stamp Advisory Committee, which selects the topics and themes for the stamps each year. She has authority over which artists, illustrators, photographers, designers and artworks are selected to appear on UN stamps. Additionally she has control of the look and feel of the UN Stamps brand. Over the years she has designed and collaborated hundreds of postage stamps and philatelic products collected around the world. Dr. Seuss, autism speaks, UNESCO World Heritage sites, CITES Endangered Species are just a few of the organizations she has had the privilege of working with.
Dan Kuhlken learned to illustrate as a child observing wildlife at the San Diego Zoo. He met future business partner Nathan Goldman in high school where the team’s first collaboration included playing in a band for which the pair designed album artwork and promotional materials. Dan holds a graphic design degree from Cal State Long Beach. He began his freelance design career collaborating with Nathan Goldman on posters for the legendary Troubadour. Dan was a designer for Disney’s Consumer Products Division and various fashion labels before joining DKNG Studios full-time in 2009 where he currently serves as Creative Director and Senior Illustrator. Gemma O’Brien is an Australian artist specialising in lettering, illustration and typography. After completing a Bachelor of Design at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney, Gemma worked as an art director at Animal Logic and Fuel VFX before deciding to fly solo as a commercial illustrator in 2012. Her typographic work takes on a variety of forms, from calligraphic brushwork, illustration and digital type, to large scale hand-painted murals. She splits her time between advertising commissions, gallery shows, speaking engagements, and hosting hand-lettering workshops around the world. Her clients include Playboy Magazine, Nike, Volcom Stone, Kirin, Westfield, Heineken, QANTAS, and Diet Coke. A number of her projects have received the Award of Typographic Excellence from the New York Type Directors Club, in 2015 she was recognised as an ADC Young Gun and in 2016, named one of PRINT Magazine’s New Visual Artists: 15 under 30.
Illustrator and Typographic Designer
Daniel Pelavin grew up in Detroit Michigan and began his career in local art studios. From his earliest work, produced with templates, french curves and drafting tools, to a present day virtuosity in digital media, Pelavin has used a restrained and simplified vocabulary of geometric forms, rich, flat colors and typography inspired by a wide range of 20th century ephemera.
His mastery at combining stylistic elements from various historical periods while maintaining an unwavering focus on clarity has resulted in a body of work that is timeless and enduring. He has received recognition for illustration, typographic design and a singular ability to seamlessly combine the two. He began his journey into digital media at its onset and continues to play a pioneering role.
Pelavin earned his BA in advertising and MFA in graphic design, but credits high school industrial arts classes and studio apprenticeship as his most valuable source of training and inspiration.
A decade ago graphic designer and rock drummer Yves Peters started reviewing type in his Bald Condensed column on Typographer.org. In August 2008 he put his graphic design career on the back burner, freeing him to concentrate on his writing and related activities in the digital type business.
After writing for Unzipped, his blog on the FontShop BeNeLux home page, Yves came to notoriety as the editor-in-chief for the international design and typography blog The FontFeed. He is now design writer and producer for Type Network, news editor for Typographics magazine, and assists a number of independent foundries as copywriter and consultant.
Yves tries to be critical about typography without coming across as a snob. His talent for being able to identify most typefaces on sight is utterly useless in daily life.

Thomas Phinney is President of FontLab, secretary of the global type association ATypI, and an 11-year Adobe veteran (lastly Product Manager for Fonts & Global Typography). His typefaces include Hypatia Sans, an Adobe Original. Thomas teaches type design and font tools worldwide with the Crafting Type collective.
Dan Rhatigan works with Adobe Typekit in New York as the Senior Manager of Adobe Type. He has over 25 years of eclectic experience in various industries as a typesetter, graphic designer, typeface designer, and teacher, including several years in London and New York serving as Type Director for Monotype. He has a BFA in graphic design from Boston University, and MA in typeface design from the University of Reading in the UK, and a very tattered passport.
Nick Sambrato is the Founder of Mama’s Sauce, a spot color print shop & VP of it's parent company, Fiction. Mama’s Sauce is a renowned print shop in the graphic design culture. The two companies, now merged, and are headquartered in Winter Park, Florida amongst a budding creative scene in the greater Orlando area. A veteran of creative and tech, Nick has blended Internet communication strategy with his companies since his first offering - a paid bulletin board service (BBS) in 1993, which he started out of his bedroom when he was 13. Today he guides the vision of Mama’s Sauce, looks for new opportunities for Fiction, and tells his story regularly from the stage in Print Matters, a nationally touring event that celebrates design, printing, and paper along with French Paper Company’s Brian French.
Mrinalini has been working on the User Experience Design workflows and the User Interface for the product Adobe InDesign. Her work involves product development through user validations and feature prioritizations along with solving and designing features or workflows that would resonate passionately with the users. Debi Sementelli Type
Debi Sementelli is a professional lettering artist and font designer based in Dallas, Texas. She's had a romance with letters for the past 25 years. Her favorite moments are spent amongst pens, inks, paints, and brushes, wildly flourishing her way through an alphabet. In 2011 she moved from lettering artist to font designer basing all of her fonts on her own unique hand written lettering styles. She loves coming up with swashes, flourishes and ornaments to give designers a variety of choices to play with. She's been fortunate to watch her fonts make the Hot New Fonts, Rising Stars and Best Sellers list. But her greatest thrill is seeing someone use one of her typefaces in a uniquely creative way. That feeling of collaboration is what inspires her to keep creating more hand lettered fonts. The next best thing is sharing her love of lettering with others.

Started in 2002 by husband-and-wife partners Marke and Kimberly Johnson, along with brothers Nathan and Zachary Johnson, with high school friend and garage-bandmate Adam Blake, The Made Shop is a small, curious, family studio working across an ever-expanding range of mediums. Dan Stiles has been working in the graphic design industry for more than 20 years. Cutting his teeth making punk flyers with sharpies and paper stolen from Kinko's, he quickly adopted digital tools in the early 90's. These tools, coupled with screen printing, shaped not only his art but his creative process. From working with bands like Arctic Monkeys, Wilco, and Tom Petty, to fortune 500 corporations like Google, IBM, and Nike, Dan has discovered that in both life and design, one thing leads to another.
Senior Typeface Designer
Nina Stössinger, Senior Typeface Designer at Frere-Jones Type in Brooklyn. Nina graduated in multi-media design from Burg Giebichenstein University of Art & Design in Halle/Germany, and in typeface design at Zurich (CAS Type Design) and The Hague (TypeMedia MA). She worked as an independent graphic designer, typographer, type designer and coder in Switzerland and the Netherlands before relocating to New York in the summer of 2016 to join Frere-Jones Type. Her typefaces include FF Ernestine, a friendly slab serif (FontFont 2011), and Nordvest, a serif text face with subtly reversed contrast (Monokrom 2016). Named a “Type Designer to Watch” by Print Magazine, Nina has won awards across disciplines, had her work exhibited on three continents, and frequently lectures and teaches internationally.
As founder of MuseResources.com, Joseph embraces and explores the vast capabilities of Adobe Creative Cloud through online learning as well as sharing assets and design resources. Now working as a UI/UX designer in California, Joseph continues to be an avid Adobe evangelist and resource to those bringing their design work to the web.
Nicholas Van Der Walle
In 2002, Nicholas van der Walle was working as a Graphic Designer for an aerospace company. Having just designed a show stand, Nick’s manager wanted the artwork “more blue”. This seemingly small change took many days and created the question that there must be a better way. This is how Astute Graphics was founded; Nick designed and commissioned the creation of a plug-in for Adobe Illustrator named “Phantasm CS” which delivered instant color changes.
Over the last 10 years Nick has ensured that Astute Graphics leads the way through designing innovative, imaginative tools for vector designers that significantly save time, boost creativity and achieve refined results.
Astute Graphics now has a repertoire of 14 plug-ins available to purchase via their website. Clients range from individual freelancers to global corporations including Adidas, Disney and Apple. Nick heavily invests time in finding out what graphic designers and illustrators want and need which enables a steady stream of releases and learning material each year.
Bart Van de Wiele
Bart started his career as a graphic designer specialising in print, e-publishing and image retouching. Later he became an Adobe Certified Instructor providing classroom training and consulting using various Creative Cloud products. He's a renowned speaker at conferences in Europe, Australia and the United States and has written many articles on Adobe's print and e-publishing products for Creativepro.com, InDesignSecrets.com and InDesign Magazine. Bart joined Adobe in 2015 as a Solution Consultant for Adobe’s media products like Adobe Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, Adobe Stock and AEM Mobile (previously Adobe DPS).

Kyle T. Webster is an internationally recognized illustrator, designer, and digital product creator. Laura Worthington is a typeface designer from Washington State. After training and working as a graphic designer since the mid '90s, she turned her lifelong fascination with lettering and typography into a business, publishing her first typeface in 2010. She has since published more than 80 typefaces, and designed custom faces for Fortune 500 companies. Laura's faces are primarily based on her own hand-lettering and calligraphy, a practice she continues to hone daily. Her typefaces are primarily for display, and often include a broad variety of ornaments, contextual alternates, and swash forms. Laura Worthington handles every aspect of a font's creation, from concept and hand-lettering to digitization.
